The dispute revolves around three alleged patent infringments MercExchange say the ebay “Buy It now” feature contravenes their longstanding patents, and in a previous ruling were awarded eight-figure damages. EBay asked for the patent to be re-examined, and the US Patent Office has now released its ruling, concluding that the patent applications in question were invalid.
