out there, but also a lot of ways to empty your wallet. So what are your

choices when you just stating out? And what do you need to know? There are

tons of choices and plenty of information.

The concept behind paintball is simple. You have a gun loaded with “bullets”

that consist of paint filled balls. You use this weapon on a battlefield to

combat other players. And depending on where you’re playing and how serious

your game is will depend on the rules. The most common concept is go from

point A to point B, don’t get hit, and hit as many people as possible on your

way over.

The first thing you need is a gun. These are available to rent at most

paintball facilities, and therefore limit your choices, but there lots of

choices. You can have everything from a single cock to fully automatic, but a

good semi-automatic is the best choice for a beginner. Things like weight,

reliability and accuracy will all be an issue that will depend on your person

skill level as well. But there is a gun out there, new or used, that will work

for you.

Another important item is goggles. Don’t under estimate the importance of a

good pair of goggles for paintball. If you can’t see your opponent, or even

the tree in the distance you want to hide behind. You paintball experience

will be frustrating and suck. Think about things like field of vision,

comfort, but most of all, safety. There are paintball goggles made for

paintball. The only injury likely to occur in paintball is shooting an eye out

so you need goggles on at all times in the shooting areas.

What are you suppose to wear when playing paintball? This is a common question

with lots of answers. But basically there two points to consider. What shoes

and what outfit. Sounds like the prom! But basically you need shoes that will

be comfortable and can get dirty. High-tops, light work boots or cleats are

all good options. As far as clothes go, try cammo and dark colors to help you

hide. Another thing to remember is be completely covered. Wear two layers of

light clothes instead of one heavy, single layer.

Now that you’re ready to go, where do you go? There are plenty of parks all

across the country and the first place to look is your local phone book. They

are available indoors and out and with several different types of terrain.

Trying to find a local area of woods is not only a bad idea, but also illegal

in most areas. So stick with the paintball parks. There is a fee involved, but

it’s well worth it. Now buy your gun then get out there and play some

paintball!
